Healthy Minds Talk

Introduction

Welcome to our Introduction to Healthy Minds Work, a collaborative initiative between your workplace and Richmond Foundation to support your mental wellbeing. In this series of short videos, we will introduce you to Richmond Foundation dedicated to promoting good mental health for over 30 years.

We will explain the services offered through Healthy Minds Work, including the confidential Healthy Minds Talk service, which provides therapy and emotional support.

This program is voluntary and ensures your privacy, with sessions conducted by our professional staff. Join us as we explore the various stages of the program, how to enrol, and what to expect when seeking support.

Normalising Reaching Out

Whether you’re facing a significant challenge or dealing with minor concerns, you don’t have to navigate it alone. Our Healthy Minds Talk service offers a safe and confidential environment where you can openly discuss your thoughts and feelings. No issue is too small, and no problem is too daunting.

From relationship difficulties and work-related stress to emotional health and anxiety, therapy can provide valuable insights and strategies to help you manage your life more effectively.

Remember, seeking help is a proactive step towards building resilience and gaining clarity. It’s a testament to your commitment to your mental wellbeing, just as important as your physical health.

Intake Session

In this video, we guide you through the process of accessing our free therapy sessions, available through your company. Learn how to contact us via helpline, online chat, or email to set up your first appointment, known as an intake session.

Discover what to expect during this session, where our dedicated psychology officers will gather personal details, assess your needs, and discuss logistics to tailor the best therapeutic approach for you. Sessions can be conducted online or in person, providing a safe space to explore your mental health journey.

Emotional Support

Before you begin your journey with us, we want to ensure you feel supported and empowered. After your intake session, you’ll have access to up to six emotional support sessions with the same psychology officer who conducted your intake.

Our trained professionals are here to provide a warm, non-judgmental space where you can openly discuss your feelings. While this isn’t formal therapy, it serves as a crucial first step in addressing personal struggles, managing stress, or understanding your emotions.

Our collaborative approach allows us to work with you at your own pace, helping you gain insight and develop effective coping strategies. This is also an opportunity to refine your focus for future therapy and set goals for your therapeutic journey.

We are committed to helping you reduce distress, navigate life’s challenges, and build a healthier, more balanced sense of well-being. Because you deserve to feel heard and supported every step of the way.

Therapy Session

Before you begin your therapy journey, our psychology officers will gather the necessary information to match you with the most suitable professional and approach for your unique situation and preferences.

During your initial emotional support sessions, we will work on assigning you to a therapist, psychologist, or counsellor. Once assigned, your therapist will reach out to you to commence sessions, at which point the emotional support sessions will conclude.

Therapy sessions offer a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental environment where you can openly discuss your thoughts, feelings, experiences, and concerns. Your therapist will attentively listen, helping you explore underlying issues, identify patterns, develop effective coping strategies, and set meaningful goals.

Each session is customised to your specific needs, incorporating open conversations, guided exercises, or evidence-based techniques to foster clarity, insight, and confidence.

Over time, therapy can enhance self-awareness, improve emotional well-being, and facilitate progress in areas that matter most to you. Sessions, lasting 45 to 60 minutes, can be conducted in person or online, with frequency adjusted to suit your individual needs.

Therapy provides a supportive space to be heard, understood, and supported, no matter what challenges you are facing.
